More than a restaurant, Gavroche has always been a love letter to the timeless culture of the Parisian bistrot. From its cosy banquettes and gleaming brass rails to the iconic dessert trolley passing by, every detail at Gavroche is authentic, many elements having been lovingly imported from France. It is an atmosphere that feels like a step back to the cobbled streets of the Left Bank in the nineteen fifties, offering Sydneysiders a true slice of Paris where good food, fine wine and warm company come together in genuine Parisian spirit.

Since its very first day, Gavroche has honoured the traditions of warm hospitality, honest cooking and classic recipes passed down through generations. The name Gavroche is inspired by the spirited street urchin from Les Misérables, a symbol of mischief, resilience and joie de vivre. It is that same irrepressible spirit that fills our dining room each day.

In celebration of eight wonderful years, Gavroche invites guests to enjoy Huit à la Maison, a special Eight Course Anniversary Menu that journeys through the beloved classics that have defined its story. 

Guests can expect freshly shucked oysters or Burgundy escargots, Hokkaido scallops in cider reduction, truffled French onion soup, mussels with garlic butter, classic steak frites, rosé champagne sorbet and a roaming dessert trolley. Each course is a loving tribute to the warmth and tradition of the Parisian bistrot.
